This two (2) day course is designed to build a base of operation for the new patrol rifle operator. In addition, the course will cover the most recent review of both the law and practice of high-speed motor vehicle pursuits and the use of deadly force. Each session will include a thorough review of all relevant updates on the law for the past year, including case law, statutes, Attorney General Directives and Guidelines, and county policies. This one (1) day course is designed to prepare officers to instruct the Attorney General’s mandatory semi-annual training within their own departments. Registration is limited to students capable of full participation.īDUs or Class B uniforms are appropriate. NOTE: All Firearms Courses at the Camden County College Police Academy require participation in physical activities such as light running, sit-ups, push-up, etc. Topics of instruction include shooting on the move, natural and unorthodox shooting positions, individual and team live fire exercises, high speed shooting drills, multiple threat assessment and engaging, strong and support side shooting, clearing malfunctions, shooting from cover and vehicles, and low light operations. This three (3) day course is designed to build upon the skills learned in the Basic Rifle Operator Course and to introduce more advanced techniques.
